This week was the spring concert at The bART Center For Music showcasing young talent from across the city. We captured dramatic still shots of the students and instructors at the rehearsal to use in the upcoming bART print brochure. A video shoot of the concert followed the next night and the music was amazing! I recently went to a Minor League Baseball game with some friends, and it was a great way to kick off the season. The Tulsa Drillers won the game and we had a great time eating stadium food and cheering on the team; however, the experience still came up short when compared to the Major League Baseball games I have attended. As with any job, programmers should always strive to improve the quality of their work. In programming, there are many loosely-structured “best practice” techniques we can use to write code that is as efficient as possible and easy to update and maintain. Some are well-known, broad-reaching best practices, like DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself), and reusable concepts suited to more specific situations, like design patterns. Others are architecture concepts, like MVC (Model-View-Controller). In any case, the key is to know when to use a technique, how far to take it and when to avoid it. This week started off as usual: open the door, throw down my bags and receive a barking "hello" from our office dog, Pancake; however, there was one major difference.
