Adobe Edge Preview

Adobe has released in Adobe Labs a preview to their new web motion and interaction design tool, Edge. Edge leverages existing and emerging web standards such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to accomplish its effects, allowing it to work on devices that don't support Flash, such as Apple's mobile devices. With the fairly widespread partial adoption of CSS3, as well as the development of JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, there are plenty of options for animations and effects that previously assumed the use of Adobe Flash (or Macromedia Flash back then.) Flash certainly has its downsides - it uses more client-side resources than HTML, it's usually slower to download, it's generally more difficult to maintain.
